There is something so special about photographing a family you already know.


This beautiful family of four are particularly special to me because Mum is actually my hairdresser, working locally in Keelby, so it was such a pleasure to have the opportunity to photograph her family too.


She had previously booked me for one of my mini sessions, and this time we went for a full family photography session in the Lincolnshire Wolds.


And what a lovely evening it was.


Their little boy was full of energy and personality, while their little girl was much more shy and gentle, with the sweetest, loving nature.


Together, they made the most beautiful little pair.


We spent the evening exploring the Lincolnshire countryside, playing, walking, cuddling and capturing all those little moments that make their family completely theirs.

Family Photography in the Lincolnshire Wolds


The Lincolnshire Wolds are one of my favourite places for family photography in Lincolnshire.


There is something about having all that open countryside around you that makes outdoor family sessions feel so relaxed.


For this family, it was the perfect setting.


Their little boy had plenty of space to run around, explore and burn off some of his endless energy, while there were quieter corners where we could slow things down and capture some beautiful cuddly photographs too.


This is one of the reasons I love photographing families in the Lincolnshire Wolds.


Children don't have to stand in one place for an entire session.


They can move.


They can explore.


They can run ahead and come back.


They can have a cuddle when they need one.


And we can use the landscape around us to create a gallery that feels varied and natural.


There is so much more to family photography than simply standing together and smiling at the camera.

Beautiful Neutral Outfits for Family Photos


I also have to mention their outfits because I absolutely loved what they chose for their family photography session.


They kept everything simple and neutral, with soft, natural tones that worked beautifully against the Lincolnshire landscape.


This kind of colour palette is one of my favourites for outdoor family photography because it allows the family and the connection between them to remain the focus.


The soft neutrals complemented the greens and earthy tones of the Wolds perfectly, without competing with the natural surroundings.


When you're choosing what to wear for family photographs, you don't need everyone to match exactly.


Instead, choosing colours and textures that sit comfortably together can create a really timeless look.


And this family got that balance absolutely beautifully.

As a Lincolnshire family photographer, I feel incredibly lucky to have such beautiful countryside on my doorstep.


The Lincolnshire Wolds provide so many wonderful opportunities for outdoor family photography, from open fields and rolling hills to woodland, wild grasses and beautiful paths to explore.

You don't need perfectly posed children for beautiful family photographs. My outdoor family photography sessions are relaxed and child-led, giving little ones the freedom to explore, play, cuddle, laugh and simply be themselves. Some of my favourite photographs come from the in-between moments when children forget the camera is even there.
